How does alarm monitoring work?
Once your alarm activates:
- signal sent to our Monitoring Control Centre, day or night
- monitoring agents personally contact you or your keyholders
- monitoring agents ask you (or your keyholders) for verification word
- if verification word is not given (or is incorrect) relevant emergency services will be called.
Keyholders
A keyholder’s role in the protection of your home or business is important as they must:
- be nominated by you (minimum of two, maximum of four)
- be able to attend your property within 30 minutes of the alarm being activated
- have a set of keys to your property
- know, from day of installation, how to operate your alarm system
- be contactable by mobile or landline phone
- know your alarm code and your verification word.
You can nominate yourself as a keyholder, on a mobile or work number, if you satisfy the criteria above.
What’s a verification word?
Your verification word is not your alarm code but is a memorable word which identifies you and your keyholders as the genuine users of your system.
