Sherry FitzGerald Armstrong was established in 1877 as W. & G. Armstrong. As a family business, it was traditionally involved in agricultural property but over the last 20 years has become increasingly involved with residential and commercial property.

George Armstrong joined the business in 1939 and his son, Sam, joined in 1981. In 2000, the company joined Sherry FitzGerald Countrywide, which has enabled it to offer its clients the nationwide coverage and expertise that the Sherry FitzGerald Group has to offer. The company is a Member of the IAVI. Its premises, located in Market Street, were totally refurbished in 2001.
